K3 Retail in Touch with Mobile Clienteling POS

 

K3 Retail has announced the launch of the new tablet enabled point of sale (POS). The new system from multi-channel experts K3 provides an improved customer experience in-store by enabling the store assistant to quickly and easily access all of the K3 POS functionality with a tablet device anywhere in store.

 

K3 Retail are particularly pleased that the new solution has been achieved without requiring extensive and costly development, as the new solution uses the Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS which is designed to run on any Windows device.

 

For store managers, the tablet enabled device can be used to access all of the normal store manager functions via the store portal to interact directly with both the store and head office system. Real-time business intelligence, loss prevention, stock check and delivery receipt can all be performed on the device.

 

Peter Ward, K3’s Product Manager for AX, comments: “What’s great about the solution is that absolutely any task that the store assistant had to use a traditional till for can now be done with a mobile device. They can access brand web sites, scan items, check availability, access customer loyalty information, process click and collect orders, and place orders for the right item when the stock is not immediately available - absolutely anything. With wireless printers and PEDs, we can even take the payment and print the receipt without having to go back to a sales point. This really does free the customer advisers up to get away from the traditional sales desk and engage with the customers; offering advice and suggestions of additional products”.

 

The solution represents the store of the future and was developed by K3 Retail at its innovation centre in Didcot, Oxfordshire following consultation with retailers, their customers and Microsoft; with the objective of providing a low cost and innovative manner in which retailers can utilise the integrated store to better engage with customers and drive increases in sales and productivity.
